To be held from Friday 26th to Sunday 28th September 2025This proposed Mid-South Drive Weekend will include a visit to the Coalfields 500 at Collie, plus to the new Paul Stubber Motor Museum in Bunbury, together with group lunches, dinners and wineries visits.
Rod Quinn has asked for Expressions of Interest from AROCA WA club members for the above location at Preston Beach, especially considering that the ‘Beach Shacks’ are really well-appointed, two-story units with separate toilets & showers on both floors – suitable for two couples to share.
There also are Apartments (see photo) with two bedrooms on the Top floor with separate showers and toilets for each bedroom as well, but their facilities are both on the one level. Unfortunately, there are no one bedroom units at Footprints Resort, so if you didn’t want to share, your cost would be higher.
Recently, Rod Quinn and Sam Calabro drove down to Preston Beach to examine Footprints Resort and have advised that they were quite impressed.

Note that 2 bedroom, 1 bathroom Beach Shacks are also available at $350 per night. The 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom Beach Shacks, discussed above, are priced at $370 per night, i.e. $185 each per night if shared by two couples. The Townhouses (2 bathroom) are priced at $400 per night.
The Beach Shacks have a queen bed in both bedrooms or the option of 2 bunks in the second bedroom. The Townhouse/Apartment units have a king bed in one bedroom and two singles in the second bedroom, but alternatively the second bedroom can be made up as a king bed rather than 2 single beds. Further details on the weekend itinerary should be available soon.
Footprints Resort could be a great opportunity for you to be both a part of the Coalfields 500 ( at least as an observer,) as well as enjoying a great beachside weekend and some Alfa Touring in the “Mid-South”.
