Wow time has flown bye, really the GTV is half my age.
Yeah would be great to get mine out from the covers for this special day!!!
Thanks to all who are organizing this next year, good job.
Love that magazine cover! Oh, how I wish Alfa Romeo had headlines like that today. It’d make me go out and buy a 916; and the first thing I’d do, is change the exhaust to sound like Neil Harmon’s black beauty. There’s no greater pleasure than cruising behind Neil, listening to the sound of that Busso V6 singing through a great set of pipes!
Agree, Neil has the best sounding GTV around!
I sold my GTV 916 3.2L early in 2002 to buy a new 156 GTA, which I still have. While my 2 boys had outgrown the tiny back seat of the GTV, back then the 916 didn’t have such a great standing as a special Alfa either – but it has since (re-)acquired its special status.
It is interesting how many Alfa models did go through a sort of trough of disrespect before climbing back up to more heady heights later. Some Alfa models seem to have just stayed in that trough as well, although the opinions among Alfisti do vary on that matter.
